| Growing in the Granite State is a collection of children's music, composed by people who dedicate their lives to entertaining and educating New Hampshire's children. Over the centuries, the state has been the scene of numerous historical and cultural encounters. It was once the home of Native American groups, including the Abnaki, and in the seventeenth century, the settlement of French and English colonies brought the European cultural heritage that characterizes the New England region. Since the industrial revolution, many waves of immigration have brought new elements to the multicultural mozaic. Today, New Hampshire is a place where these influences converge, and where past and present coexist on a regular basis. The natural and cultural richness of this magnificent state are reflected through the artistic and musical expressions of its inhabitants. Growing in the Granite State reflects this diversity with an album that includes a variety of musical styles. From blues and folk, to African beats, from traditional English songs to bilingual Spanish or Hebrew lyrics, the collection offers both multiculturalism and creativity in a colorful and dynamic way. |
